Social mobility white paper: narrowing the gap between social classes in education
In this article Peter Jones explores the implications of this move for higher and further education institutions. The Government has said that class is still a source of persistent inequality in British society. Following the publication of the white paper, ministers are set to consider the imposition of a new legal duty on the Government and the rest of the public sector to close the gap between people from different backgrounds in every policy decision they make.
