Trainees - Kit days

Hannah and KateOn 22 April 2009, Hannah Vosper and I attended the first Morgan Cole ‘Keeping in Touch’ day in the Oxford office. Hannah and I have both been working for Morgan Cole as Insurance Executives in DMG in Swansea for the last year, before we commence our Training Contracts in September 2009.  We were both looking forward to meeting some of the current trainees, as well as those who will be training alongside us in 2009 and 2010.

The day started with an introduction from Training Partner Guy Constant followed by Chairman Robin Havard and Commercial Director Tim Pashley, who gave an overview of the firm.  Several of the current trainees presented a workshop highlighting the importance of networking, and this was followed by a practical networking exercise involving role-play, which tested our memories along with our social skills!

A session by Perdip Bhachu entitled ‘A day in the life of a trainee’ gave us a very good insight into the types of tasks that we may be asked to undertake as trainees.  Perhaps the most memorable part of the day was the teambuilding exercise, which saw us all holding hands in the car-park trying to physically untie ourselves from the knots that Jennifer Dowdall had got us into!

During the buffet lunch there was an opportunity to chat with other current and future trainees.  This was followed by a question and answer session with Guy Constant and staff from the HR department.  At the end of the day, Hannah and I headed back to Swansea with a better understanding of what lies ahead, and we were both very pleased to have had the opportunity to meet with others who will be starting their Training Contracts with us in September 2009.
