Morgan Cole is delighted to announce the further expansion of its Employment, Pensions and Benefits group with the appointment of a new partner, William Downing, from Manches.
William Downing is a well-known lawyer in the Thames Valley region, with over 13 years’ experience in employment law. He undertakes contentious and non-contentious employment law, particularly within the corporate, social housing and technology sectors. He has also advised a number of public sector organisations.
William qualified into the employment practice of Trowers & Hamlins, based in London in 1996 and became a partner in 2002. He joined Manches in 2005 and was instrumental in building up the employment practice in Oxford, with consistent growth over several years. William is recommended in the current edition of the Legal 500 – one of the major legal directories which ranks practices in the UK and around the world.
William joins a 25-strong employment team at Morgan Cole and will be based in firm’s Oxford office. He will be working alongside partner Rebecca Ireland, who joined in September 2009, from Clarkslegal and Matt Jenkin, head of the Thames Valley employment practice, who joined the firm in 2007 from Wiggin. Together they will continue to build on the firm’s current success in developing its employment practice in the Thames Valley region.
